Looking for an UrS6 ECU to borrow.

6spd manual version. Needed to confirm problem with existing ECU.

Not me. Someone in the UK (Damien). I know he is with an airline so maybe in the London area. I will confirm.

            Damien,
I got your message in the morning mate. How was the thing going?

            FYI I have 4a0907551B (from UrS4 Automatic w/o immo) ,4a0907551D(from UrS4 Automatic with immo)

All the ECU boxes shares the same part# besides the last alphabet which defines model/year,immo system, transmission.

the part# you sent to me last night it's supposed to be the transmission control unit.I have the actual box but

don't know where did i keep it.

I do have a Motronic form an AAN motor don't know if S4 or S6 (date on the ECU it's 03.02.95 So should be an S6?) believe it's from a manual one at list KATE says so....

              Code it's 4A0 907 551 C

Will be happy to lend it and if needed I have the comlete motor loom as well.

I believe the ECU it's in perfect order but note that it was savaged together with the whole motor (which it's not for sale) I have no idea neither if the ECU it's original or chpped.
If I have to sell the ECU I could do it but in all honesty I have no idea of the right price to ask...
If you want me to lend it to you no problem of course and no charge (apart shipping).

Try to get a UrS4 ECU, the UrS6 will have immo issues and will need to be coded.

I have a brand new boxed 551C. It would be decentcly priced in comparsion to a new one!
However, first check the ecu number. If your have a S6 its likely to be a 551C or if lucky a 551E.
As PRJ has said you may need Vag com to replace like for like and want to retain the immobolizer. Of course you need to have eliminated the cause of the problem first.

How has your ecu died? Seems odd for it to just give up, unless it got wet or something. Are you 100% sure it's dead? You'll need to know the cause either way as you don't want to fry a new one once you get it.

He says it has no 5V power coming out of pin T55/12 on the ECU which powers the TPS, G40, F96, G62, G42 (bottom right row of devices in this diagram):

No power with the ignition on?

Are you sure that 5V is not short to ground somewhere or inside a sensor ?

                            On another forum. Damien said

"Hi Dave, to be honest it was a process of elimination. The fault codes were TPS and cam sensor. But when the sensors were tested independently they were fine. Also no juice is going to any of the the engine sensors from the ecu power source. So we are pretty sure it is an ecu based problem? Also the engine temp is showing -30? So i am going to remove the unit from her tomorrow and get it sent away for inspection. "

Damien is working with a mechanic on this.
