Refurb oem Wastegate or buy aftermarket one for 450 / 500bhp ?

Will shortly have a GTX 3071 .82 to fit and was wondering as my wastegate has 140k miles on it, and as like the rest of us, I don't want any unnecessary weak links in the engine, (whole car tbh), I'm wondering should I replace the original wastegate with an aftermarket one or refurbish the oem one ?

Which will cost less money ?

Which will give the best end result ?

Any recommendations for an suitable tried and tested aftermarket one ?

Anyone got the list of parts and numbers needed for the oem refurbishment ? also what other things have to be done to it to refresh it? Valve guide ?, new valvle ?

    Thanks for any comments.

I think Will at VRS northampton was offering a TIAL one for our engines. Andy aka Sonic had one fitted to his S2

Oem is perfectly well for more than 500hp.

I'd say sent it off to a reputable place to have it checked at least as it may not need anything doing.

New one is not only the costs of the wastegate but also the fabrication to fit it

From the ones I have seen there is a chrome like coating on the valve stem which flakes off, I think that can cause the valve to stick. I guess the valve guide could wear as a result. Otherwise there is nothing to go wrong really other than the diaphragm which you can replace.
