Oil pump to pick up gasket?

Is there just an o-ring or o-ring and gasket between the pickup tube and oil pump?
Just going through the victor kit, and it has a gasket that matches perfectly but the pickup pipe has a o-ring recess.

What's normally done here?

o-ring, i believe that gasket is for the turbo oil return.

There is also an O ring for the oil return, that is used on the blanking plate where the AC compressor usually fits... not sure if that's part of the kit though...

Ah right, of course there must be some bit left over from the kit, as its somewhat universal.

I don't think the sump gaskets and turbo gaskets are included in the Victor Rienze set,
or any other sets. You need two sump gaskets. Turbo to manifold gasket, oil and water turbo gaskets, all of which are not included. You need to speak to Aelred or Pete Reave on hear, they will put you right

Good catch. I have the two sump gaskets, but yea need to sort out the rest of them.

The Reinz bottom end kit includes one sump gasket, you need to buy the other one separate. The part number is: 70-29178-10

I have just taken a pick-up pipe off an engine (7A) this evening and it used a paper gasket. The AAN I am building also used a paper gasket. HTH

So it does, 7A upto M chassis (1991) used a paper gasket and the locking plate, after that o-ring and no locking plate. Don't understand the AAN, unless it was a very early 92 build car?

For the AAN (and ABY and ADU), there is item 15, the O-ring, PN 034115427C (26.5 x 2 round seal) and Item 16, the retaining plate (NOT a gasket). People might put a gasket on but nothing was called out.

This was bugging me as well when putting my bottom end together. On KATE, for an ABY I think and some other models including ACV that I'm using, it shows an illustration of the paper gasket for the oil pick up but the actual part number associated is for an o-ring 27 x 2.5mm or there abouts. The locking plate comes up as an "unknown part" on some pages, as the M6 bolts that attach the pick up are specified as self locking. So it was just an O-ring, self locking bolts and Loctite 263 that I used.

My -93 AAN had a O-ring and a locking plate. The headgasket was paper.
