Note: Marcel C. on my homeforum (quattroworld UrS) made these videos with the engine is upside down, exposing the crank main caps and bolts.
The plug that covers the check valve on an UrS6 (with no oil pressure gauge)
The check valve in its niche in the block
Crank Main Cap No. 3 removed to expose the check valve below DING!!
The 12 point, 8 mm triple square check valve removal tool
Removing the check valve
Probing the main cap bolt hole to show the connection to the check valve cavity
Testing how far the OE main cap bolt would go into the check valve cavity without the main cap installed
Testing how far a standard length ARP main cap stud would go into the check valve cavity - The answer is TOO far. Needs a shorter stud for that location.
Thanks for those Marcel. Definitely shows how the oil pressure check valve could be potentially damaged by an ARP crank main cap stud that hadn't been shortened enough - which could lead to all sorts of oiling issues, especially for the head.
