Coming soon: "I have never seen a rod poking out of my block before".
Never seen 25psi boost before!

Yes. The photo below was as the result of an RS2'd UrS4 that was running a very very agressive chip set that needed toluene to keep the pinging/pinking/knocking down to a dull roar. The car did not have a FMIC or boost gauge. Duh.
Bottomline: Serious knocking will knock a rod through the block if you let it.

Mine looked much worse than that. It went right through the sump, and almost split the block in half. Only found the top half of the rod and half the piston still in the block.
The amazing thing is that the car still continued to running, but not for long.
Cause to much boost from dodgy ECU remap.
Moral of the story only use trusted people. Alred built the engine, and PRJ mapped it.Comment

Yeah the new engine is the one I mapped, seems to be holding up so far

Well I have now used her for 2 days to and from work, and the boost is back to max 19psi. I've repaired the cables to the MFTS, and unplugged the 2 Management System fuses for an hour, but it's back to the original problem of running too rich sub 2000rpm whilst warming up- only now it's much worse. Once up to temp, it's fine though.
I'm considering replacing the loom from the MFTS back to the bulkhead connector, in case there is damage to the cables that I have now disturbed.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved.Comment

Tested the G62 today- engine 'Cold' (tho outside temp mid 20s), and it read 2200 ohms.
The multi-plug looked clean, and reading to earth 0.2 ohms. The cable appears to disappear into the loom- Is it worth checking continuity of the other pole (presumably it goes to the ECU?).
I tried disconnecting G62 with engine cold, but idling- and the revs dropped somewhat.
Whilst DMM in hand- I checked the temp sender by the throttle butterfly, and it read 440 ohms, with one pole giving a good reading to earth.
Any more suggestions?Comment

Yeah, stop testing electrical senders, pressure test the car and verify the wastegate membrane.Comment
