    5 Cyl Sump Variants

Hello again folks this question isnt specific to the S2 basically ive purchased a 3B engine to fit into a BMW E36 im now wondering about the different sumps/pickups etc that came on these engines in whatever model audi. Photos would be useful to me because honestly ive no experience with these engines and their subtle differences. The top end stuff like inlets and exhaust manifolds can come later basically i need to mount engine low and have it clear the subframe and steering rack. Ill be buying a quattro box to give me options in that department or whether to mate to BMW Gbox. Many Thanks.

As a ghetto solution You can use steel oil sump from old N/A R5 motors KV/KU/NG/AAR etc. Feel free to weld them any way You need.

thats correkt; use any steel oilsump from any old R5... they will fit, and the pickup for the oilpump are a easy solutions, it have a flange in the frontcover, so you may change it anyway...

Can you be more specific? I'll check my engine later to see what you mean as the flywheel is removed

For removing the sump there are 2 hidden hex bolts access through the back by the flywheel

that's what I think he means
