I would like to see how a BB turbo works without a oilfeed restrictor.
Anyone have experience with Comp Turbos?

Mike, yes, a BB turbo usually needs a restrictor. I wouldn't remove it. Then again the in-line filter must be good, the 0,4mm restrictor can easily be clogged.

That compressor cover shattering is not tolerable. Looks like underquality castings. Better to improve that as CT in stead of polishing it...
I can't believe this failure is related to oil starvation, looks more like unbalance/clearance/overspeed related issue. (though snapped shaft end looks discoloured)
Have you opened it up? More pics?
Everyone is producing in China now, better hope quality&metallurgy check does not happen there.

Ooh and for inlet oil filter size, at least 40μm mesh or 20μm for diesels.
As for qty, normally you'd need at least 2litre/min if running with a thrust bearing.
Next to that make sure your crank case ventilation is working properly, if not your CHRA pressure = sump pressure making your piston ring seal on the turbine end the weakest link disposing the oil in the exhaust. BTDT on more occasions...Comment
