    Mann 719/5 oil filter?

I received some oil filters from an overseas order, but the MANN filters I received are 719/5 and the recommended for 20v engines and my 1.8T is 719/30.

I can't see any difference between them when I search on the MANN website, but I have read somewhere that the 719/30 was introduced for longer service intervals So I'm guessing the only difference would be I would change them more often? I currently change the oil and filter on my 1.8T every 10k. I'm not sure whether I should use the 719/5 or not.

    Anyone else with some info?

I have looked into this before and never found a definitive answer. You can get the spec sheets for them off the website. The bypass valve is different between them, and i believe the 30 has a finer filter material in it too. /5 will work fine, but i always ft the /30.

Certainly on 5cyl motors the /5 seems to be listed for all the 10v motors, and all the 20v motors are the /30. Dont know about the 20v 4cyls but i assume long life is the order of the day like most modern cars.

Also the genuine VW/Audi filter for the ABY/ADU is the 719/30, i've compared them side by side and they are absolutely identical in every way, except the VW/Audi logos arent printed on the side of the Mann filter.
