Does the RS2 MAF Trim Screw?

A mate of mine has suggested looking into this as I believe my engine is running too rich. I think this may be a sealed plug over the MAF sensor box?

My understanding is that this can be tweaked to adjust the air/fuel mixture on idle

Anyone with any information please share.

I will also be looking to get the car plugged into a Bosch machine to see if I get any error codes in relation to my sensors (Oxygen sensors and AMF sensors I think may be the issue here?)

    Thanks

    Tom

no i'm sure prj wrote that if you adjust the screw it ruins the maf.

please check posts by him or pm him before trying this.

Also, and I mAy be wrong here, but if you have that screw you have the wrong maf anyway, I think !

I was just thinking that, I thought it was only 3B's that had the screw. Regardless, leave it alone!

So considering that they made an rs2 specific MAF and he ain't got one, root of all his problems ?

I'm also pretty certain that they are the same electrically, although don't quote me on that. I know I've run both sorts on my car with no obvious difference, probably means the car has had a re-conditioned MAF at some point.

They maybe the same electrically but dont you have to do a resistor mod to use a rs2 maf on a non rs2 ecu, which leads me to believe the operate on a different voltage range .

Always wondered what the resistor mod was for!

I think I am wrong, again. its just for the rs2 software itself on non rs2 ecu so the maf reads correctly

I think the resistor change is for the 3bar map sensor

As above dont go near the adjustment screw, it should be blanked off anyway. As far as i know its only there to calibrate the sensor during manufacturer, and i'm willing to bet on later MAFS its done internally before the cover is glued in place so you cant mess with it.

R201 resistor is for the MAF signal, lets the ecu read a higher maf voltage.

You are correct, it is blanked off and we will be leaving it alone.

A more logical approach to the rich running of this car is now being applied!
