    RS2 air flow sensor

hiya, i've just been told that I should replace my airflow sensor on the RS2. The car has been in for some power issues and is running properly again which is great and they thought it would be good practice to replace the sensor.

I thought I'd get a quote to get it from my local Audi guys.

Cost is 1763.00 + gst (%15) which blindsided me a bit!

I know things are a lot cheaper over in the UK and I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of shop \ supplier that sells the genuine Audi part (trying to keep the car OEM)

I've asked for the part number from Audi just to be sure I source the correct part.

    thanks so much

    cheers

    john

G70 Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor info

That is the Porsche 951 (aka 968 water-cooled 4 cylinder rear transaxle in the updated 944 body) part number.

The Audi part number is 034133471N

More Mass Air Flow info here:

The G70 mass air flow sensor (MAF) for the ABY S2 is the same as that for the RR Urq, the 3B S2 and 200 20vt and the UrS4 and UrS6 (all same PN 034133471K)(Bosch 0 280 213 007). The RS2 MAF is similar but different (wider opening screens) (PN 034133471N). (See photo below: 471K on the left, RS2 471N on the right). In both cases, when the engine is shut off, the ECU sends a current to the MAF hotwire that is enough to burn off the crud that has accumulated. (NOTE: PN update the 471N RS2 MAF is the same as a 944 turbo MAF PN 951.606.125.02 (Bosch 0 280 213 017)). Scarman (Tom G) found some interesting info about Bosch remanned MAF PNs HERE

Hey Dave, I guess you know the RS2 shares the same MAF as the 968?

A friend purchased one off Bosch here in NZ a couple of years ago, the price was $440+ GST which is a lot cheaper than WW got quoted.

Just spoke to my local Tps guy and they were made obsolete 13/8/13 yep two days ago and as I also needed one. I was lucky as there was an audi dealer in Hereford showing one in stock and after speaking to the parts guy i bought the last one in the Uk, there are none at the factory either It had been on the shelf for 5yrs so I had it for a knock down price saving myself £53
