Bosch 040 Fuel pump

Not managed to find an answer to this one. Does the Bosch 040 fuel pump fit in the standard basket of a coupe without having to do the mods as the 044 pump requires?

not sure to be honest but the mods needed to fit an 044 are veery small.

get a 3b basket and its easier again.

The 040 is £50 cheaper and i know my car will not be going higher than 360 BHP. If you do have to do the mods then i probably will go for the 044.

I bought 2 x 044 second hand for 100 quid.

maybe a walbro 255 would, be a better cost/fit too.

Both the Bosch Motorsport 040 and 044 are 60 mm diameter fuel pumps so the mods needed to install the 044 are the same as needed for the 040. Might as well go for the 044.

the locating ring on the 040 is lower down meaning it can be put in the holder from the bottom so you only have to mod the breather at the top. Less work than an 044

The 040 though isn't the best pump in the world though better off with the 044 or DW300
