The best thing to do is replace it for some tfsi coils, its not expensive and its a good upgrade and you don't have that problem.

the originally design is flawed IMO, it basically places PVC cable insulation in an oven at least 100 degrees outside it's comfort zone. I'm surprised it lasts as long as it dose.

Ironically they were on the right track because most of the OEM coil harness has really expensive silicon coated knitted firbreglass sleeving covering most if it, only the joints let it down - clearly the accountants jumped at the chance to shave a few DM off the cost of that harness. Still it lasted 20 years in the main which is more than can be said for 99% of the engineering on 21st century cars.

If you don't recognize what that is then you are definitely one of the people that needs to check their coil wiring. You know where the spark plugs are right?
