As above, if you want to shift it quick, you will literally have to accept £3-4k for it even in the fine condition it is clearly in. If you want what it is worth (and your price is not high as far as I am concerned) then you just need to hold on. Possibly for months, even maybe a year or so.

THink it might still be for sale but there was a blue 3b coupe for sale at £3k, then a bit lower and a bit lower still and still no takers. Crazy, if I was in the market for an S2, I would buy either his or yours immediately. Alas, not many people even know about them, let alone have the time or money to care for them.

just a related question to that ecu swap. Is the immo built in to the ECU software so more have to be changed than just the ECU? Might be older than the system I got on my allroad but on that it was a pain in the *** without the SKC code since audi can't give you the code anymore. Without the SKC it was not possible to program immo with vagcom so it matched on the instrument cluster/ecu.

It won't be a popular opinion, but yes, it's too expensive. I absolutely agree that it's worth the cash considering I know how much time, money and effort these cars require to be anywhere near the standard yours seems to be.

However, I and many, many others would take the risk on a £2.5k car in the hope that we can spend another £2k on it to bring it up to standard. There does seem to be an unusual amount for sale around that price just now which may not be helping matters

Another consideration is that when people look for a 20 year old car, maybe they want a bit of a project? Yours is too sorted, I couldn't live without constant tinkering So that's maybe another market shut off?

I think you'll sell it, for a little less than you're asking, but it will take a good while. I think you're doing the right thing returning a few parts back to standard

As with any car of this age, condition and rarity, its is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it - IMHO you will get the asking price for evetully I think but you may need to wait some time. Alternatively return the car to standard and recoupe some of the money spent on modifications, and sell as a standard car - don't forget a very tidy and well maintained standard car is certainly more appealing to most buyers than a modified one. My 2c.

Funny how most new buyers spend ages finding a stock car just to do all the usual upgrades when this place gets under their skin

Try golf, it is for people who like punishment. I never tire of it and it takes ages to play. Also very difficult so you will never reach the point where you are happy. Upshot is golf courses tend to be on backroads, so at least the drive to and from your punishment is fun. Every cloud and that...
