Have an issue with my 1993 s4 with an aan engine. It would start and run but after a length of time anywhere between 2-20 minutes the engine would cut out and not restart. It seems electrical as opposed to fuel unless the fuel just stopped flowing as it didn't misfire, just cut out. No codes apart from g28 engine speed sensor. I suspected a conlog alarm that had been fitted to it in the past sometime so i removed it today. Only two wires were cut in the installation-one was the ignition and the other was a green wire which i think was the fuel pump but could have been something else. Both were rejoined in their original positions. Engine started and ran for 4 seconds then cut out. Started it again and it ran for a further 4 seconds and then cut out again. Now it will only turn over but not start.
Fuel pump relay is working when the engine is turned over. I can hear the fuel pump working and there is a strong smell of petrol.
At a loss where to go now. Any ideas where to look now
