  • Coil packs.

Yesterday's loose plug was a red herring, the misfire is still there when the car is really warmed up. Anybody got a good source for coil packs and how much they are per coil.

    Cheers,

    Graeme.

I think vagparts are going to be your cheapest for new ones.

I have 4 used spares if you want to try one? It involves cutting/splicing/soldering. It could also be a power amplifier.

Here is a write-up on how to check if it is your Power Output Stage (POS):

I've already had a power amplifier go and it felt nothing like this. Only high boost/high load situations and the boost guage stays static so I'm assuming it's ignition rather than fuel/air. I found a loose plug (#5) and thought I'd cured it but hadn't given it long enough to heat up.(loose plug post).

Cheers Doug, I'll see if I can get Kevin to pick one up from you and bring it to work, we're Sat/Sun dayshift, Mon/Tue nightshift. I'll let you know once I've spoken to Kevin.

          Thanks again,

          Graeme.

Doug, Kevin can pick up a coil tonight if you're about.

            Cheers,
