I am sure a while ago someone mentioned that titanium ones are the best for out and out performance.

I too am thinking about building my head... If I upgrade springs shouldn't other things be upgraded as well? And would there be accelerated wear on parts? Is there any real reason if I don't plan on raising the rev-limiter?

Yes, but not form catcams, only springs + retainters form them

                    ok,
did you order the upper retainer 99370 or 99380 ?
and springs 902-5009 (double) or 99859 (double) ?

you know that if you use the retainers from cat cams you have to remove the valve seal

7A high lift cams with original springs start to rattle ~ 7600-7700 and gives a nasty feeling during drive. Crane 4 cyl 16V Golf springs are said to be good up to 8000. Find the Crane catalog & VW

No i use QR sport's own spring. Made more difference then a 280 chip.

I belive it puts more strain on the turbo (good excuse to upgrade that when it blows).

Are we still talking about valve springs? The strain on the turbo comment makes me think we're now discussing wastegate springs. If that comment was regarding valve springs, how is the turbo affected by changing them?
