From the C4 UrS Robert Bentley manual, pg. J28-27:
"The knock sensors cannot be checked electrically. Check DTC memory => Repair Group 01. For satisfactory function of the knock sensors, exact compliance with the tightening torque of 20 Nm (15 lb ft) is important. Check the harness connection from knock sensor to wiring harness for corrosion".

Knock sensors do not always throw a code ,at least mine didn't. when I bought my s2 around ten years, It never performed any thing like my standard s6 .We tested and swapped just about everything on the car with parts from the s6 with no success, and as the s6 continued to run ok with the s2 parts you can imagine how I felt. Until someone suggested that it could be a knock sensor problem. We had, we thought ruled this out as there was no code.
But in desperation I changed the front knock sensor and the car was transformed after nearly two years of frustration.
It may not be your problem , but the moral of the story is you wont know until you try.
Before I pulled codes I had a feeling it was a knock sensor as I've had similar symptoms before, boost hits a max of 0.5 bar then stop and switch off, switch back on and full boost.
