When I went to change the rotor arm on my 3B I couldn't get it off. If I pulled any harder then something would have broken. Is there a trick? Any other rotor arm I've changed has just pulled off.
Fortunately mine was in good condition so I cleaned it and kept it in place.Comment

The original rotor is glued on!
That does not look like the correct rotor either as it should be @11mm at the tip. Perhaps some one has been in there before and changed the whole dizzy for a 7A or something. Was the tamperproof cap still over the dizzy fixing?
Looked more closely at it and I believe it is an original correct one! The clue is that the contact does not stick out from the plastic support. If your replacement is wider, some have trimmed off the excess. You should be able to tell where by comparing them!Last edited by twoqu; 10 November 2013, 13:29.Comment

Well fitted new rotor arm and g28 sensor kept it turning over for bout a minute and she fired up sweet as a but had it running for about a minute gave a couple of revs then died went to fire it back up weeeeeeeeeeeee **** no compression took to bits and some **** hasn't tightened the crank pully bolt so the woodruff key is shot and the groove in the pully is shot. Crank looks to be OK so I need a new pully and fingers crossed it hasn't bent a valve but I'm never that lucky so I'll prob find all 20 ar doneComment

Oh dear
IME if you have piston to valve contact it normally makes a fairly audible bang, so you might be lucky and the timing has slipped enough for the engine to die before anything made contact. You need a new crank sprocket (I recommend a billet one from Terrybullwon or VolcanoRS on the forum). Timing belt is an easy job on these, make sure you change the idler pulley and crank bolt too, worth chucking a new water pump in while you're at it. Fingers crossed you've not bent anything.Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt
