Hello can anyone help my audi s6 is suffering from boost impediment.when u put your foot to the carpet the power is jumpy and hesitatant.
I have changed plugs and still no look has anyone any advice i have built a boost leak tester but is there anythink i need todo before shooting compressed air up the inlet.
Cheers Slim
Could be a number of things, I'm sure someone will come along soon with a more comprehensive list but boost leak would be top of my list, it would cause those symptomns. But it could be MAF or ignition (coilpacks or POS failure) as well.
First just try unplugging the MAF, clean up the contacts and re-seat it firmly. Many a person (me included) has solved the on-boost kangarooing just by doing that.

Ross's advice is a good good place to start. The MAF commonly causes issues like that.
Typically misses at high boost levels = weak coils, unable to produce the needed spark under pressure (literally). Solution = find the weak coil(s) and replace with new. Here is a link that provides some methods to check your coils for weak spark.

If you find that the MAF is OK, follow the link that Dave posted for trouble shooting coils, etc. Do remember to ground the other 4 plugs when testing.
I've had issues with bucking and hestitation on some occasions. Pushing well north of 2bar and E85 (lambda 1 is 9.6 instead of 14.7 on petrol), so the igition system must be in shape.
One time the culprit was a coil boot (the rubber tubes between coils and plugs). I recently had some hesitation, tried different plugs and lowered the boost. Suspected it to be a faulty coil.
Got one of these coil testers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-auto-and...item4ac9c976d6 that worked great. All coils would jump a 20mm+ gap, so they were all fine. Turned out that one of the plugs had widened the gap to 0.6mm (stock gap for F3CS plugs) from the 0.5mm that I had set them all at a while back. These plugs have a habit of breaking the ground electrode if regapped after use, so I got 5 new ones in less than a week from England (www.carsparkplugs.com) for approx. £20 delivered to my door here in Norway. Buying the same plugs from a Norwegian online store would have cost more than £100. Go figure, but that is rip-off-Norway in a nutshell.
