2.8 V6 AAH not running right

I can understand the text below is a bt vague but I don't have pictures at the moment to clarify things.

What is the case: when accelerating from low revs (by no means flooring it) is doesn't go through the revs fluently. You can't fluctuation on the rev counter but I can surely feel it doesn't go in a straight line. I know the 2.8 will never be a fast engine but it should be smooth at least.
What makes it worse though is the heavy Bolero wheels with 235 tires on them. When I put some lighter 17'' wheels on lately with 225 tires it was still there but much less noticable and the car was faster obviously.

One thing I noticed when I replaced the cam cover seals is a vaccuum pipe on the throttle body with no hose connected. As I couldn't find a hose to fit to it I just blanked it off. This made no difference to the issue.

Also I have replaced the spark plugs in the past and fitted them straight from the box, should I check the gap? If yes what should it be? Will check which plugs I have fitted in an hour from now.

When reading codes there was one code that referred to a thing that controls in the intake track I believe. But when I had the intake of I did not know what that thing should look like I can understand this also could cause above issue.

As I have hardly driven it in the last two summers (it's my cabby) I did not think about it much. But now someone wants to come over and take a look etc. I don't want the deal to cancel because of this

As I have an appointment with the possible buyer I can use some help quickly. Don't punish me for this please, I do always postpone things to the last moment and I know I shouldn't

Taking myself back to when I had the intake off I recall testing device no.2 in this link http://www.12v.org/engine/index.php?...n=cl&view=iman
I think it works as it held vaccuum when I tested it, but is it only vaccuum operated?
If yes what could have caused the code in VAGCOM? Unfortunately I don't know the code, it was done at a local garage but I didn't get a printout or so.

If i understood your problem correctly, you feel fluctuaction in revs when accerelating??

If this is case you need to do a small test with O2 sensors. Check on wiring diagram which wire on sensors is the ground, then splice additional wire to them and connect to known good ground and drive again.

I had similar problem on Audi V8 and problem was bad ground to O2 sensors an car fluctuated on revs. As the sensor signal to ECU was fluctuating (and it should, that is how O2 sensors work) engine responded same way.

There is my fives cents and hope it helps

Thanks for your help. I believe the O2 sensors are also called lambda probes? I put new ones in in 2012 and the values are checked with VAG COM and were spot on I've been told. Could the values be correct and still have a bad ground connection?

On my last AAH, I had a small hose connecting from the intake pipe as in picture

To the throttle body? I'll have a look at mine.

Yes they are also called lambda probes. Did you have problems also after replacing the sensors or just recently started to happen?

Like I said this was case on Audi V8 with similar symptms, maybe in your case can be totaly wrong way, but worth the look in anycase

Well actually I did not notice any difference after replacing the lambda's but it did pass the MOT afterwards.

The port on the plastic part was blocked, had to drill it out. Vaccuum hose is now connected though and seems to have helped a bit

don't get distracted, replace the leads.
a set from exhaus unlimited, gsf, ecp should be fine and not as exhorbitant as from audi.
i had a similar dodgy misfisire before wih similar tail chasing of vacuum leaks and garage costs that did not suggest leads at all.
                      good luck

It could be the leads indeed, I think the originals are still on the car.
However I don't have time anymore to order new ones as hopefully the car will be sold tomorrow.
