I did check the cable with yellow/green earth colours was on the negative but now you mention it I cant see it been anything else and I changed the wires for thicker gauge many years ago, hope I didnt use yellow/green earth for the live but its possible.

started a topic Fuel pump not pumping

    Fuel pump not pumping

I fitted an 044 pump today but it doesn't appear to be pumping. It makes the right noise when powered up but my fuel pressure gauge stays at zero.

There was an airlock in the pre-filter, the sound changed when I got rid of this so Im sure its now full of fuel instead of air.

I tried disconnecting the banjo from the check valve on the outlet to see if anything was coming out (see image). I would expect to see fuel squirting out the other side when its running but get nothing.

When I undo the outlet at the pump end it leaks fuel so it is definatley getting fuel in under gravity from the tank..

    Any ideas?
