I'd guess you would need to push 700 ponies or more to need to know which is stronger. They're all plenty strong enough for most folks builds.

I'm tempted buy FCP X profile for the money.

I believe for the same weight X-profile is not as strong as H or I profile. Easy to make a strong rod. Difficult to make a strong but light rod

China rods are proven to hold quite a lot of power, so it really doesn't matter wich rods you use.

The left more narrow rod is from a engine tha made 800+hp with stock pistons. No problems for the rods. Later a piston did go in half though. If I remember right the rods was sold as SCAT's. The rod on right is Aronmatic's rod, a lot more fatter.

But then again, Pauters do look sexy.

If only 700hp use cheaper H-beam, if go more near the 1000 use X-profile . As x -beam profile is different dimension and have more material.

X section are rifle drilled though, whereas H beam aren't.

Mine 2.6 was not the best idea to built as done in short block 144mm rods TDi crank 95.5mm stroke and lowered custom FCP pistons 82.50mm.
Such engine is okey for 500-600hp town daily car, cant run more when 7200rpm as big risk to destroy engine. But runs like a diesel NM in low rpm, and fun begins on 2500rpm.
My recomendation, to use x-beam rifle drilled rods, woessner pistons CR 8:1 up to 82mm bore size in diesel block with 95.5mm storke CR will be 8.7-9:1 (fits stock MLS gasket 30-40eur, other way 83mm gasket cost minum 200eur). Engine size 2,5+liter.

Definitely interesting build, how often do you reach 7200rpm & how many miles has this engine run?
