What brakes do you have at this time on the car?
If you're running stock S2 brakes you should consider at least RS2 brakes... Safety first!

Clutch will be fine as RS2 and ABY share a clutch and flywheel. My stock 3B clutch holds chipped RS2 power... just and that's much weaker.

Injector seats are a good call. Cheap and easy with the IM off. More problematic with it on if it goes wrong.

Loads of maintenance you can do at the same time...

Looking forward to your future posts on how you get on, and also in due course your driving impressions when it is done.

Ironically, was going to go got a higher spec that RS2+, but as time and ability is in short supply, I think I'll be going for the Iroz RS2 hybrid, as close to 400bhp if it works all the time every time, will be more than enough for a daily.

It's good being able to have someone you can rely on, my mechanics, having never worked on an S2 have managed to handle everything the car has thrown at them. I've already let them know what's coming and they are prepared

I will be going for an IROZ RS2 Hybrid as well, but I will stay with stock or a very basic chipset because I don't want the clutch to start slipping and knowing me I will be booting it every now and then quite hard .

Lots of work has been done to the car already, will try get a thread up of what's been going on with the car since ownership so as not to stray off topic

Consider injector seats (best to remove intake manifold to replace), if so intake manifold gasket.

Going off course into maintenance, its an easy time to change the engine mount under the turbo, front snubber mount with the intercooler off, and gearbox mount when the exhaust is out the way.

Get a lambda and egt port in the downpipe if you plan on a wideband or egt guage in the future.

ABY FPR is 4.0 bar. (ADU 3.8)
    Thanks for that

I will speak with Pete so I can get the gaskets for the oil lines replaced, the oil cooler was last replaced in 2006 by a previous owner but I may as well do a clean sweep. I have to check if the new injectors which are being supplied by a forum member come with the seats already as these are new in the box.

I've had all the mounts done already, mechanic didn't find them too bad but they were past it especially the gearbox and engine ones!. Snub mount to be provided by Rusty and I have planned to have this done whilst the intercooler is being replaced as well.

I can stay with the stock FPR then I presume?

Thanks for all the info and feedback guys

That's exactly right, I feel it's too much work and bother and would over-complicate things more than is neccessary

Plus I believe Ryan does not really have any support in Malta, so all the little intricacies of fitting custom parts like this make life very difficult unless you can do it all yourself

started a topic More questions about RS2 Spec

    More questions about RS2 Spec

I've currently got a couple of items on their way to me as I will be staying stock RS2 (315hp or at the very most a stage 1 chip) till I get a couple of things sorted.. i.e. new clutch and possibly flywheel in future as the last thing I need is the clutch to go on me due to the added torque and power.

    I have:

New RS2 Injectors on their way
    RS2 Fuel Pump and Basket
RS2 ECU (With Immo but I will get this removed via prj)

    Still to purchase:

RS2 Turbo (Maybe Iroz one for the billet wheel)
New Oil Cooler (Whilst I'm down there I'll have it replaced..)
    Wagner Exhaust Manifold and Intercooler
    New EM Gasket and Studs

My car is a late 95 ABY, does this already have the 4 Bar FPR installed?

What else would you suggest I replace? I will be having a new custom built exhaust by a local engineer and tuning company which does some great work so I'm confident they will do a good job with a nice 3 inch system including the downpipe.

I'm sticking with my stock Inlet Manifold by the way. Thanks guys for all your help
Working...
