Was thinking the Diesel oil pump would be designed for peak efficiency at 4K RPM but I can see what your saying, happy to hear otherwise and that it works fine.

Ok, so maybe I will use the AEL pump then... Will compare the internals of the diesel and gasoline models.

Has anyone a stock 20vt headbolt to measure the length of it? Can't find the info anywhere. Just wan't to know if it's the same length as the diesel 12x115mm headbolts. Thanks!

Ok, thanks. Just what I was thinking, diesel bolts are too short.

You can use 2.5 tdi V6 bolts. They are 155mm.

BMW bolts also. Make sure you change the oil squirters from the diesel ones to the petrol ones on the block

Yes, I know the BMW ARP's, have to sell my kidney to get them though. Budget solution is to use normal tdi bolts.

Old thread, but just to inform, I will use normal M12x160 12.9 grade bolts as head bolts, they are something like 2e/pcs.

One question about stroker builds, have you guys who build strokers ever needed to grind of material from the bottom of the bore so the rods have enough room to turn over with the crank? Seems that in my build the rods made contact with the bottom bore step, so I need to grind of some material there.

Yes, I had to grind there. Used Sten Parner Rods on 95.5 crankshaft.

                          like this:

                          Go Holset or Go RS4

I had to do the same, Sten Parner rods and a 95.5mm crank.

Ok, so it seems to be normal then. I'm using FCP X-beam 155mm rods. Then we shall grind some...

Yes, grinding need is normal. A bit more on 3b blocks, a bit less on other blocks- but especially with longer rods, you definitely have to machine out the block.
