compression problem aby

I had a compression problem on cyl 5. I took the head off and saw this:
All the intake valves are clean at one side. Have they been hitting the pistons, or is it normal?

Looks to have been running pig rich, the clean parts of the inlet valves are just due to the squish area I think.

This is Bram's old engine, still has the rpm issues since hydrolock, has not done more than bad idling since, maybe that causes the rich running?

Have you examined the crank pulley for keyway damage? It might be worth inspecting.

That is not good. I think the valves are bent.

Did some testing at my local workshop, all intake valves are leaking, the last one the most, this explaines the loss of compression on cyl 5. Luckily i have a spare ADU head. This one will be repaired and maybe some porting too :mischeif:

Either A. your crank pulley keyway was broken or B. the cam belt has slipped - resulting in contact with pistons /valves

100% piston contact, been there and got the Tshirt (twice!)

Piston contact was caused by hydrolock, shifted the adjustable cam wheel on the intake side

Head after some cleaning. There are some cracks at the sparkplug holes, but nothing to worry about.
