With a 3 bar sensor the max boost you can run is 3 bar or 29psi. Should be enough to hit your bhp target, depending on the rest of your system obviously. The downside of going for a higher map sensor is that you lose mapping definition as you only have a fixed number of mapping points and they will be divided over a larger scale. A 4 bar is about 43 psi boost, you would need serious mods to go that high.

Should be able to get the MAP sensor done when you get it mapped and take advice from the mapper. Depends on turbo really, but a turbo capable of that sort of power can be run over 3 bar absolute in the mid-range, so going for a 3 bar MAP could limit your mid-range torque possibilities.

What turbo is it? Might be easier for people to post up what they have with the same one...

Remember Map sensor measures absolute pressure ... 3bar sensor is nominally 2bar boost.

cheers guys that gives me a bit more insight into what"s needed ....

so by reading this I may need to be somewhere between 3 and 4 bar sensor as I do not want to be changing this twice . I am still undecided between the kkk26 hybrid or the garrett .

who stocks these sensors on-line and any recommendations on makes ???

              cheers

Go for a 4 bar, as it reads up to 3 bar of boost.
                prj has got them.
