may be a daft question ? i need cams from a 7a or early s2 with the the cog on cam shaft to drive a distributer . i have a pair of aby cams [no cog] can a cog be purchased and fitted to the aby cam shaft to drive dizzy the cam seems to have a extra long shaft on end which maybe cog slides onto ?
I'm pretty sure it's heat shrunk onto the shaft, my NM cams that I sold on to an ABY owner had had the gear removed and I know they were the real deal as I spent half a day measuring them, the part numbers are a little ambiguous.

Be aware that the gears on the end of the intake cams are different. Here is a photo showing the 3B gears on the left and an early AAN cam on the right.

The thing is why do you want to use an ABY exhaust cam with a 3B? they are the same duration etc the only physical difference is the gear between the 3B and ABY camshafts
the only reason i asked was that i have 2 pairs of spare aby cams , i am haveing motec fitted by dialynx , keith prefers the dizzy set up rather than aby coil packs ect so rather than buying 7a cams wounderd if the cog just slides on [which it does] . when the car is run in i will buy proper rally cams , but at present a need every penny to pay for motec, and alloy engine build

OK that makes more sense now.
I'd speak to VRS and Dave Rowe who tunes motec on I5's as i'm sure you don't have to do this.
Beyond that I don't think I want to comment on why he wants you to spend so much on the a hi-tech ecu but take your car to the stone age with a dizzy
i did think the same thing .. seems like going backwards, but kieth just prefers that set up, he is not making any extra money out of it either way dizzy or non dizzy . he has done alot of cars this way, with one high energy coil for all 5 cyl fitted on bulk head, as i needed to change /uprate my cams anyhow the only extra cost will be buying the dizzy and vernier pulley , also with a 7a cam cover the dizzy set up looks good [sport spec;ish] the motec he has got for me is the m600 , i want to run launch, anti lag,fly by wire, which can be done on m600 he told me m800 not req
before i went to dialynx i tried to get hold of dave rowe 3 or 4 times , he is a very buisy chap alway seems to be out of the country . they all know each other and both have done work on keith edwards red hill climb s1 rep
