correktoins...the sumps fit the engine, so you have to know WHAT car the sump are for... small chassi; audi 80/90/s2,4000, and vw 32b-87... they DO fit in!!..

the audi 5 pot, the dont normally have a leak,, it the oilpump or seal in front are the weak point...all the older engine does have the steel one.. no prob... the 20v engine.. its only the headunit, who are the differnce...so if you does have an old 10v (MC1) or likely.. you may have the 20v headunit, with EM and IM.. and all the outer stuff... the bottom end are nearly the same....differnce comp and oilsquirter and like this...

                    steel sump

think we are going to go with steel sump, what im thinking of doing is cutting the outter edge off the windage tray so it sits at top edge of sump rather than between sump and block , we will weld it to the sump or poss make 4 bolt fixings so it can be removed for future cleaning /inspection ,before this we will make some baffles to same spec as later aby alloy sumps . target is to save min 2kg , plus 25kg saved on alloy engine block , we have already save 2kg on new motec ecu loom, and hope to save 9kg on a new light weight lith 38 totalium battery 50kg is what i want to get car down to 1100kg
