    Crankcase breather pipe - sizes?

anyone got any opinions/BTDT's regarding the size of the crankcase breather pipework - is there a minimum bore size or is it as case of as long as there is plenty of room for the swirl pot/catch tanks its not really as important as a stock set up....

I'm looking to re-do my set up and I'm currently hunting for parts.....

    Thanks in advance....

I did a thread on what the OE outlets are, which can be cunningly found by searching for "breather pipe"

What are you looking at doing?
    • Stick to 3/4" wherever possible
    • Don't have any low spots
    • Keep the outlet tied in to the inlet pipe
    • Keep the 30mm pipe from the block breather to reduce air speed and help stop oil getting too far

It's probably smoking from the turbo cause it's so good rather than the crankcase!!!

Vas, who mentioned anything about smoking!!.... cheeky blighter....

Andy C, I'm deleting my rocker cover breather outlet to turbo (a la JP set up) and I was looking at reducing the plumbing snake pit that is my engine bay!!!!.....its a little over engineered/industrial pipework wise and wanted to get a feel if you could reduce the bore of the pipework....

AndyP, as above.... I want to improve the visual appearance of the engine bay and what with the new rocker cover with an -10 fitting I just wanted to double check the pipework before buying....

Use a 3 inch tube for everything. It will be fine. You could fit your hole arm in to clean it too

Are you thinking of doing something similar to what Kitt did?

If so, don't buy any parts just yet, I may have something that'd be of interest to you!
