thanks k Simmonds that's put my troubles to bed. just need find where my old injectors have gone now!

was thinking automark just up the road they could help with mapping and what ever else needs setting up in the ecu, MAF rs3 coils ect

also whats the best MAF to use?

Dmitri made me a base map by feel when I swapped to EV14 750cc, and emissions were great, cold start too. Just had to take it to the MOT before mapping it. Your favored mapper should be able to do something similar for you.
Later when he mapped the car I showed him the injector card I got with the injectors, that didn't work out any good The numbers were quite a bit off by some reason.

Mark offers a large MAF conversion....he might not be too happy with the coil conversion ....he seemed more than happy to use the standard Audi set up...

Automark have an excellent reputation, that's where I'm planning on taking my 3B to be mapped when it's ready, which will be very soon just got 20 tappets to change. I wanted to cover at least 1K miles to iron out any niggles, that's proved to be a wise decision as I've found and solved a few.

With a newly built motor you want to run it in properly with mineral oil before dropping it out and using fully synthetic prior to getting a high boost map done. A low boost base map for running in with the 750 cc injectors would be even better than using stock software/injectors with the N75 unplugged but given the cost of a mapping session I'm not sure it's worth it.

As you have an ABY you could upgrade to an RS4 MAF and I kinda feel this is the best option especially if your going for more than 450 BHP, it's better suited to dealing with that much air and is not NLA like the original units. There's no difference between the 3B/ABY/ADU/AAN MAF's other than part numbers and screens, they all work the same. I think it may also be possible to use a VR6 MAF but I know nothing about this.

I'd give Automark a call and maybe arrange to go and have a chat if your close.

I've still got the standard set up but its seen better days and I also had a misfire from time to time, he didn't like the sound of me using a hx35 either when spoke to him some time ago.

I will ring him this week see what he can offer.

Random misfire's could be the low tension wiring to the coils or the packs/boots themselves but have a good look at the injector plus as well, the inner sleeves go brittle and crack causing poor connections, I had this with my 3B and it took a bit of finding, easy to sort out though.

I think Dmitri (PRJ) is a big fan of the HX35 so maybe it's worth getting in touch with him, however he's not over here a lot.

I would like to use PRJ but as you say he is to far away.

the injector wiring is very brittle and the conduit has started cracking in spots but all the plugs seem ok.

I like the rs4 maf idea but I best speak to auto mark first

he didn't like my general set up, so I wouldn't worry too much about it...I just said to him I wanted to try something different and he appreciated that....every tuners got their ideal set up.....

seriously I'd give him a call as he is very amenable chap....I even managed to peek at the Lamborghini diablo he had in..along with the sprint car in the lock up next door!...

Sorry guys, can't quite seem to manage to do them all :/
Tons of work over here - has picked up a lot in the recent half year, basically leaves me no time and no point to go anywhere when I got the workshop booked full a week in advance

I'd love to to find someone in the UK who could be a dealer - all these cars can be tuned remotely at this point via logs and I have this arrangement in many countries.
Have not quite found the right person in the UK yet though

As above I'd get at least 1k miles in before getting it mapped, bed the rings in really well and iron out the inevitable niggles. A few changes with mineral oil for the first 500 mile, part throttle only with lots of engine braking before gradually upping the revs and load once you're on fully synth.

So are you running an HX35 or something else? Do you have a project thread?

+1, definitely do not run the engine on 750cc with standard ecu when not mapped for it, as you will ruin your fresh engine.
Fit standard injectors, disconnect the n75 and just drive it normally for a while.

No I don't have a project thread. I'll post up the spec tomorrow night. And try ring automark sometime this week.

So what examples of oil are you guys recommending for running it in?
