It's hard to see but by the looks of it no its not correct.
Boost should be going into the side of the valve, 90 deg to the piston.
It looks like your MAF to turbo hose is connected to this position.

I was looking for this topic yesterday to check mine. Mine is opposite to yours, but I equally didn't know if that was correct, all I did was match the old one.

I run mine the other way so the pressure does not try and open it but i have seen others with it this way and been told that it doesnt matter as stock boost will not push the DV spring.

If mine is the wrong way around can this cause change boost levels? Say by a couple of psi?

Also, if anyone can post or share a link of a photo of a factory DV in and S2 or an RS2 I would be grateful.

Ps, ever since the new turbo (factory) was fitted I thought that the DV sounded different. I guess it could be because of this?

In theory it doesn't matter what boost you are running as the same pressure is applied to the back of the piston so it is always closed with whatever the spring pressure is.
The reason the boost is supposed to be applied in to the side of the piston is about how it behaves dynamically when it is open and is trying to close again.
At this point if the boost is coming directly at the piston you get more of a cushion effect as it tries to seat and this makes it take longer to get fully home on to its seat and seal again.
So what happens if you use it in the none stock way round is that you loose a little throttle response due to the valve not closing as quick as it should.

It's the wrong way round. Boost should act tangentially not on the base. If you're swapping it round, get a new one for £25.

The part you've pictured is the N75 BTW

Worn DV can cause reduced boost. If it's split then you'll hear it when lifting off.

Thanks, yeah, I knew the N75 was in the middle of the shot, but the DV can be seen in the same pic.

Ive fitted my DV the right way round:

The car idles smoother, doesnt shunt coming off throttle and seems to be boosting better. I saw 16 PSI beforehand, now Im seeing 20PSI.
Can a DV around the wrong way really cause this much of an issue?

Looks like it can, when my Wgfv was wrong way round the car was a nightmare kept boost cuting at 4000 revs trying to chuck me through the windscreen as it does😳
