Hmm I'll check my plug gaps at the weekend as Iv herd they are quite sensitive to this, the car has had a new fuel filter, if I wasn't getting the flow would that be the pump or is that a blockage?

Missfire happens when the ignition system can't burn all the fuel.

so if you have a boost leak it will overfuel and missfire

If the cylinder pressures are too high for the spark to ignite properly you get a missfire.

so in order of checking before spending more money on parts.

      do a boost leak test.

check that connections on leads are clean (brand is good quality)

Which ngk spark plugs did you fit? Should be BKR-7EIX.

check the spark plug gaps and reduce them couple of thou at a time as most come in the box at 0.7mm for modern ignition systems, as mentioned before reduce them.

Running 1.6bar on mine and pfr7b plugs, missfiring stopped once gap reduced below around 0.62mm.

It looks that my cheap eBay boost gauge is saying Iv got 1.8bar not sure if that's right but u reduced my gap on the plugs to 1.7 loads better Iv just got a little miss sometimes on full load up a hill in 5th. I'm going to renew all boost hoses and vacuum hoses to see if it's just a slight leak that's causing this now, If not I'll reduce the plug gap a little more
