Just thought I'd let you know that Paul at Roose is just completing a set of RS2 coolant hoses using mine as a pattern.
I should have them next week and a price - this is still unknown!!!
On the RS2 the hose from the bottom of the expansion tank doesn't go to bottom of the radiator it goes to stubby hose that comes from the thermostat on the heater side. It replaces both the ABY expansion tank hose and the stubby thermostat one. I suspect this was to stop cavitation. The radiator connection is crudely blanked off with a bit of hose.
The Radiators are the same so at the bottom of the rad there is a "top hat" of coolant pipe over the radiator stub and this secured using the good old jubilee clip.
The really weird thing is that this means the block is connected directly to the expansion tank even with the thermostat shut and I can only guess this prevents cavitation if you've been seriously canning it!
It has been and initially when Paul was doing the coolant hoses for samco I had mentioned this but at the time there was no spare hose to send off to copy.
I'd be interested in that particular hose to have as a spare. Would Roose be prepared to sell those individually?
I guess you can sort of replicate this 3 way connection by making an alloy tube and then joining that with straight hose but it would be nice to just have it done. I'll have one as well and once I do I will have for sale the spare samco ABY one I still keep
