new hydraulic lifters tappets needed for 3B engine e

Allright. Forst of all. I tried searching the forum for any thread to answer my question, yet i found none.
Im in need of some new tappets, and was wondering what you would recommend and if you could link it to me?
Right as this given moment econemy is not at its strongest in my life. Would prefer some O.E. parts i guess, but yet again at a fair price.

    Thanks

Yep, I purchased a set from that seller on eBay, arrived quickly and their as described.

Sod's law dictates that my noisy lifter has been silent their arrival, so I've changed the oil to Fuch's Titan Pro-s 10W50 and have my fingers crossed.

I have used this company based in Derbyshire trechii.com approx £60 for a set of 20.

Built 3 engines using these now and have not caused any issues yet

          Here is an eBay link....
          Look at this on eBay:

AUDI COUPE QUATTRO 80 90 HYDRAULIC LIFTERS TAPPETS x 10

But call them direct and you get it slightly cheaper as they don't have eBay fees then.

i wrote to that guy with the INA lifter tappets priced at 120£. he told me wen i asked for shipping to denmark that paypal did not provide any coverage for him outside his normal shipping area, and that i would have to make a bank transfer instead. As far as i know, every ebay seller should be "covered" or whatever he ment by what he said, so im not sure if i should trust that seller or not, now i am trying to figure out another way to get them shipped through my brother who actually lives in england.

would they fit the 3B engine? i would rather pay a few £ more to make sure that i actually recieve my order. :\

That's the same seller as I got my set of 20 from for £120, and yes their the right type as used in just about every VAG car of the period.

I would imagine the one's Tonks linked to are fine, he builds engines for paying customers so I can't see him using substandard parts.

@ Tonks, what brand are those lifters? They seem awfully cheap. I've always used INA lifters with no adverse problems other than once when I got them from a cheaper source than gsf where I had the central hydraulic pop out on 3 lifters out of 20 so I junked the whole set as assumed a bad batch. Tried other brands in the past but hit and miss on quality control. Just curious whether in the grand scheme of things the money saved is worth it if it's a low quality brand as the minute you go higher lift than stock or raise your red line it tends to knock them out as hydraulics don't like being revved high.

Just gave them a call to ask about brand as I could not remember. They are FAI produced by www.faiauto.com.

The packaging incidentally that they were packed in was indistinguishable from INA.

With regards to their performance on vehicles with a higher lift or rev limit I would not be able to comment.

But touch wood to date I have not had any cause for concern.
