    7A MAF testing

Guys..... been looking and looking, but trying to find anything definitive on testing the output from a 7A MAF is sadly lacking, anywhere on the internets apparently.

I am fairly sure mine is toast, but clearly don't want to just chuck money at it before doing the proper tests.

I stuffed a wideband lambda up the exhaust (no cat!) yesterday to find it idling really lean, around 22AFR, and managed, after much, much turning of the MAF adjustment screw I finally got it to around stoich at idle and up to around 3K, which for economy (which is DIRE at the moment), is about all we use.

I reset the base idle and it does appear to run much more nicely, which is reassuring.

I thought I found a MAF test for a 7A, but the voltages were SO far out that I guess either I had the wrong test, or the MAF has totally had it, and that is where I am now

So anyone know precisely how to test the MAF on a 7A?

    Cheers!

    Pete.

Edited to say link above is for pre-March 1990 cars, so 2-plug ECU, I found the 4-plug one (like mine) and have extracted the relevant pages again (attached.

      Full PDF is here: http://coupe.pumppumedia.com/korjausopas/03/24_2.pdf

      Happy days, off to tinker....

      Cheers,

      Pete.
