    Overboost ?????

I have a problem, does not work overboost, I have connected the pressure gauge to the ECU directly and maximo of 0.95 pressure is bar. I have proven in 6 gear to 50 km/h with thorough gas and the pressure does not raise but. I have changed the tubes from the DV that goes to the induction manifold because they were in badly been, has reviewed the lost one of air of the exit of intercooler and has tightened all good so that it does not lose air. That problem I can have? that I review? This ABY has a little to me disappointed, because with 3b previous it has but force. A greeting of Carlos.

I am trying to help wastegates as he doesn't speak any English.

He has an ABY that doesn't pull well comparing it to the the 3B he used to have.
He gets max boost reading at 0.95 at his gauge.

Does anybody know how to find out if Overboost is not working?
Is there any fault code stored if this happens.

On other matters, what happens if there is a little bit of oil on IC?
He has visually checked some oil going out the exit of the IC (very very little)

Because of our car the usual thing is an Air leak but if there is an easy way to find if the overboost is working correctly he can rule out this possibility.

    Thanks in advance,
    Rafael

I have same thing happening on mine, peak boost is 14-15 psi in 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th gears.
I think mine might be a leak tho as sometimes it feels a little hesitant.

Will see what happens after weekend as im replacing the IC O-Ring and vac hoses for silicone.

        Check the following -

TPS - throttle position sensor. This needs to indicating WOT conditions at full throttle.
MFTS - multi function temp sensor. Check the high temp alarm is clear.

Also that air temp and coolant sensors are in spec... and the ambient pressure sensor. VAG-COM is great for this.

MAF could be faulty, but an air leak is very likely given the age. MAFs are very expensive, so perhaps trry and swap with a known good one.

Check all main turbo hoses. IC o-ring, TBV, WG and WGFV. Pressure test if possible. WGFV is cheap enough to renew just in case. Also check the narrow guage control tubing - especially down to the TBV - its very hot down there and the braided hose doesn't last forever.

Might be a silly question, i've not looked for it before to it may be obvious, but where is the TPS?
Im assuming its where the accelerator cable hooks up to the throttle body somewhere.

Just so i can make sure its getting WOT.

I'll go have a look on my break in half hour, so it may be obvious

You'll see it 'behind' the throttle body - near the bulkhead side. Can be a bit fiddly to test with a DVM for actual resistance values. Instructions on S2central.net >> Technical >> Engine >> Motronic >> Component Datasheets.

VAG-COM will report TPS reading as well.

FIRST check that nothing is fouling the throttle cable and preventing you from getting actual WOT !

Regarding oil traces in IC check the sump went valve(plastic valve that incorporated in the tubing that goes from breather to "michelin" hose by turbo) I had a problem with that, the valve wasnt working and turbo was sucking oil from sump.

                    Cheers

                        Original 3mm hose?!

Oh man. That costs a fortune. Once I ordered few meters but gladly I could cancel the order when I heard the price. 70 something euros for 5m. Doh.

Yep I went to the hydraulic shop next door and bought the hose for 5e

Today I have taken the car to the Audi company. They have connected to the computer and has left this: The tecnico does not know that it means overboost, and says that this result of the computer is not important.
