squeezing sound when starting

Need your help again

When I start the car I hear a squeezing sound for a second.It only makes the sound when it is cold. When I drive for a while, shut it off, and start it right away it sounds normal. I thougth about it steeringpump would be, because it was low on oil. So i filled it up , butI still have the sound. Does anybody has an idea what it can be?

well.. my back shelf squeecks due to large speakers. My passenger window squeeks. Power steering pump squeeks although its full on oil.

Is it always on? or when go over a bump / steer / accelerate ?

Empty battery and full alternator load -> belt squeek?

incorrect tension on the belts obviously as well, as too tight will knacker bearings and too loose and it will slip.

Hmm, sorry for the late response and thanks for the answeres!!

Squeezing = squeeking (sorry )

It is only when I start the car from cold. When it start it always revs up a bit you can only hear the sound when it revs up. When it iddles it doesnt make a sound anymore.

You guys mentioned a belt, which one would it likely to be.

Likely to be the alternator belt if its on start up i would have thought.

Mine squeeked a bit on start up not long after it was replaced, just adjusted it to take up some slack and was fine.

Ive had suggested to me before... spray a little WD40 on one of the belts to see if the squeek goes, if it does then you know which belt it is, this is easier than removing one as a trial.

Probably worth checking the tension on both of them first tho and condition.

What about the pulse off the after run pump, doesnt this pulse on start up as part of the system check, mine does???
