Not yet but almost... Maybe I'll be there the Saturday or the next

Anyway, I've been driving this for a while ( its a 39k miles Tommi Makinen) and all I can say is that this car compared with an S2 is like the day and the night.... In all the ways.

Much better & funnier than the S2 with only 320bhp...

I am planning on a trip to VRS at some point. Possibly next Tuesday to see what is what with my ABY. I think I probably want something similar in terms of power so it will be interesting to see what they say.

Personally i'd stick with the S2 rather than buy an RS2. I owned an RS2 about 6 years ago and I did love it. I loved the way it drove, what it was and the way it went. However so far my cheap tatty S2 has been the better car. I like the fact that it is a Coupe not an estate, as drive estate every day, plus it feels smaller and being a bit tatty, at the moment, and not rare etc I just enjoy using it rather than worrying about it.

Sure if you want to own a classic that will probably never loose money then invest in an RS2 but as long as you do the right mods to an S2 I doubt you would devalue it much.

My intention is to leave mine totally standard looking. Sort out all the niggles. Give it some horse power to upset modern machinery, with brakes and suspension to match, then just enjoy it.

      Just my pennys worth.

I was looking at an Evo or Scooby instead of the S2 but, whilst it may be a faster car, it just doesn't have the same feel as the old Audi. I like that people either ignore the S2 or ask what it is rather than most peoples reaction to an Evo or scooby.

Sounds good. Look forward to the advice/suggestions you get from VRS

I have recently upgraded to just what you are looking for and am very happy with it.

I have gone for K24-7200 RS2 turbo with an upgraded billet compressor wheel from Hank (Iroz Motorsport) in the US.

not much of an increase in lag over a chipped 3B but muuuuuuch more power

DNA Autocare Ltd in Nottingham could also do all the work for you if you wanted to go the next step again.

I like the lag to be honest. All hell breaks loose currently at 3500rpm but it stays that way all the way to the redline. The same again but another 80 brake is what I am after. Like pootling around on tickover with not alot happening and it keeps you on your toes to make sure you are in the right gear.

Northampton is a lot closer but Danny @ DNA did help me out recently with something else so would be a close second, especially seeing what he has done to his and other customers cars.

What power did you end up with and what does that translate to in terms of comparable performance with other cars. I am looking to show all the scoobs/evo's/911's up whilst maybe hanging on to the coat tails of GT2's (if that makes sense) Maybe I need to aim a little higher than 400

Have you considered the K26/7 hybrid option? Bolt's on, is nice and OE looking and will do low 400's reliably, it's not a really laggy turbo on a stock 2.2 but the car's I've been in with them fitted have the sort of feel your after I guess.

Hank has had this exact setup in the states produce 420bhp on several cars.
I am running VEMS and it was only mapped 2 weeks ago so have not got a massive amount of cars on my kill list.

Deffo gonna be something like that or the RS2 Billet like Tonx suggested. Would rather stay with old school reliability of KKK but I am sure some of the other options are fine as well. I like early christmas's and the last year has been terrible with some **** luck and losing my mum, so thinking I need to spice life up a little. My mum would hate the thought of me adding even more speed but she would also like to see me with a smile on my face for a change. Game on! Makes me feel childish again and we all like kicking stones don't we?

In fairness, most proper cars are driven by complete slowmo's. Not sure why they bother really. I went out in my mine yesterday and only found interest from a Cooper Works and bizarrely also an R32. It was hardly even worth playing with them. Just a waste of fuel but ovvo still have to be done. Childish really but that is why we own forced induction cars.

So true! Was driving out of Banbury yesterday behind an Audi TT-S, thought this could be fun but he wasn't at all game. I tried to play with an R8 last week and they weren't interested. I did keep up with an McLaren MP12 a few months ago but I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying! I know these should spank RS2 spec but it would be nice for them to let me find out!

A K26/27 sounds like the sort of setup you're after.
