044 pump external fitting-need advise

hi guys.i want to fit my 044 fuel pump externally and im just about to buy 8mm inlet and outlet fitting adapters but im not sure if 8mm on inlet is not to small?is this going to restrict pump performance??

i believe the original bosch one way valve is 4mm so if you get rid of that you're already helping it...

Lovely ,but how to connect inlet to standard 8mm fuel pipe-this is my worry.(nice photo)
