  • FMIC on a urS6 - Much of an improvement ?

Is there much of an improvement for a urS6 if one was to change from the oem side mount intercooler to a bigger front mounted intercooler ?

    Any experiences ?

    Thanks.

Stock turbo = waste of time and money

RS2 turbo on AAN = not a bad idea, gets around heat soak on repetitive WOT cycles, e.g. tracking or "Spirited" driving on twisty country roads.

GT3071 on AAN = really good idea

    etc.

So around town with a RS2 Hybrid, it might be a good idea if the budget and time wasn't too tight.

Around town = very marginal improvement, even with the odd WOT. There won't be enough of them in close enough succession to cause heat soak in the SMIC.

If you did decide to add a FMIC, the core can't be thicker than 2.5" because of the minimal room behind your "Euro bumper" (as opposed to the NAmerican front UrS bumpers). This link provides a DIY guide for you, should you need it:
