Presicion 5557 vs 3076

Hey!

I know theres lots of treads on the 3076 turbo, but I get a little confused so I make one more

I have a Precision 5557bb T3 ar 0.63 turbo and got 388whp and about 500 nm, but have another engine thats coming together and can get a Garrett 3076 ar 0.82 for a nice price..

Is it worth it, is the garrett better? What power do you get?

My car has wagner rs2 manifold, reverse inlet and non portet head with 7a cams, and is driven on the road so want it driveble and fun to drive

What do you experts think?

So there is no reasen for changing to the garrett then?

I think it would be hard to beat this with 3076 .82 http://koti.mbnet.fi/pro-ht/Audi_URS...super_dyno.pdf (this had w/m inj) Of course the Garrett is a popular and well known turbo, so go for it if you feel that way. Was you Precision maxed out? I doupt, but propably you get some more power with the 3076 anyway.

Dont know if it was maxed out, but it was on 2 bar, and Im running stock pistons and comp, so about max maybe?

Got a nice offer on a 3076, and I know many are quite happy with it..

yes for shure that the holset hx35 is more reliable turbo,exept that you must find it with good exhaust housing!Good luck!

It's likely that on your turbo if you fit the .82ar you will match whatever the 3076 .82 will give you.

By the way keeping 2 bar to the limit is not the best way to make power. I keep enough boost along with timing for best power till 6000 - 6300 rpm which I'd what the 0.63ar is able to give and drop it fast thereafter. Your torque curve drops quickly and that is why you are not making good power

That turbo will definitely be bigger and more than 500 hp crank for sure but no one has tried it yet. Perhaps a bit more lag as well with the .82ar on that one
