    Ebay Max-speeding con rod advice....

    Hello Folks

Currently have my AAN engine dismantled for a freshen up. Putting a new set of main and big end bearing in the bottom of her. Thinking of maybe upgrading the rods from standard in case i ever want to increase power at a later stage.

Saw these rods advertised on ebay-

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321349979826#ht_5330wt_1006

Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. Don't think i'll ever want crazy power, eventually maybe in around the 450 bhp area.

What power does the standard AAN rods take before the big 'bang' occurs ??

    Cheers Brian

    Hi Brian.
You might be better buying off aronmatic here on S2forum if he still sells them.
I've been told that the AAN intake isn't good for anything over 400bhp or so.
That's when apparently depending on your ECU tuning you can start bending rods on a stock engine.
On these engines it's not really the BHP but more the big torque these mighty engines can produce that will bend bits
I'm on the same route with my URQ, getting a fella up your way called willie.
He's currently fitting an AAN into my yoke.
I bought rods of aron, but I'm going to wait for another build to use them.
