Cool, I'm very curious to see what power you do, Roger
A big warning sign here: This S3 project is an experiment where I haven't been consulted on the development of the engine before it was put together, and I have only been asked for help when ECU-related problems started to arise. I would rather have recommended a reinforced crankshaft to be fitted from the start and nothing like today's problems would have happened in that case, but I wasn't even aware of the project at the time the engine was being put together. I have the feeling that 500 HP and 500Nm should be reliable enough for a pretty extended period of time, 550Nm by pushing things a little, but definitely not 600Nm on a stock crankshaft. The owner of the car doesn't care less about the damage, as he has several other engine blocks available, and he also has plenty of funds to take care of the project.
Now at least we know where the limits are on the 1.8T 210HP rotating assembly. I can't wait until the engine is put back together. Low RPM boost might also be a little better with 2.0l.
The 2.0l conversion is done by keeping the stock 1.8T block and fitting different crankshaft/rods/pistons.
