Valves diference 7A and AAN head

I recently buyed 7A head from forum member (Rocco),and i finaly found a guy to convert it to AAN,i have been told that i need to change valves from 7A head, but now i got problem,3 valves from my AAN head are bended(2 on exhaust side)

So my question is,can i use those 3 valves from 7A head? Will they work normaly?or they will **** up my engine?Or the last option is to buy new valves?

The intakes are the same....the exhausts not.
I suggest buy 2 new OEM exhaust valves...
    Goodluck!

Umm...not gas. Sodium (a solid that absorbs heat and goes to liquid, not a gas)-filled.

Some of the 7A exhaust valves were sodium, even though the parts system suggests not. No pattern to it, I suspect whatever was in the parts bin at the time was used. The only way to tell is to weigh them.
FWIW I would just fit new ones, the consequences of a failed valve are pretty expensive

I was pretty sure that we had determined that some 7A exhaust valves were sodium filled (maybe the early ones with the bag-o-snakes header) and only the later ones were not. 3B/AAN/ABY/ADU exhaust valves (611B) were/are sodium filled.

Here is a complete thread on the topic:

I am sure you are right Dave....but...i have dismantled few 7A's and 3B AAN engines and, from my experience, none of the 7A's i dismantled had the sodium filled valves.
The best is to look at the pn from the valve stem to be sure. BTW, i suggested to buy OEM ones as all the aftermarket ones sold here as correct for the turbo engines were infact NOT sodium filled...

Ahh...and btw...the last 7A engine i dismantled had the snakes exhaust manifold and not sodium filled valves. I know this as i used 1 of those for testing. I cut 1 3B and 1 from that 7A engine.

I would either buy new valves from the dealer (using the proper PNs) or find a dead AAN/ABY/ADU head (one with cracks), buy it and use it for parts.

Kolbenschmidt part number for sodium filled exhaust valves is 33050 - around £13 each

I think the best will be to buy new just the exhaust ones...the intakes are the same.

Go at Audi dealer near your location and buy 2 new exhaust valves with the correct pn.
