20v crank from automatic car query

    Hello folks

Does anyone know if a 20v crank from a AAN engine which had an automatic gearbox will work ok in a engine with a 6 speed manual gearbox ??

Have been told that the flange where the flywheel bolts on is slightly different on the automatic setup, maybe 1mm (not as deep). Flywheel bolt layout is the same, though hole in centre of flywheel flange is different also.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yes its the same, just remove the boss in the end of the crank.

Drilling with a 24 or 27mm drill through the centre is probably the easiest(I can't remember exactly what size is needed so may be wrong with 24 or 27)

Just for info, i used a 2.3 AAR 10v crank on my car after I spun a bearing, on a quick check the crank was the same as AAN. Before that the car had original AAN automatic crank with the spacer removed.

The AAN Crankshaft, PN 034105101S, also is the 7A, AAR, 3B, ABY and ADU crankshaft, at least now it is, if you ever needed to swap/replace.

PNs 12A, 13, 15, 16 and 18 are for the autobox. 14A is the AAN needle bearing.
