Fuel pump failure

I'm pretty certain the fuel pump is on it's way out on the 80 quattro avant 20v.
I've changed the pump when I first got the car due to the original pump failing. I swapped it with the pump from my dead v6 quattro avant that had done 220k miles.
I Don't have a spare to get me by this time so need to buy new.
Since it's a 20v is it still the same pump as the old v6 and what would be a suitable upgrade for an s2 avant if the pumps are suitable for my car ?

Check Pete Reeve @ Quattro corner, IIRC he had a cheap fuel pump available for an RS2, might have something for you as well

Also the basket is a bi*** to take out, at least it was on the S2 best to just change the fuel pump.

The normal Audi 80 q fuel pump for the V6 and ABY engines is a 8A0906091G. This is the same fuel pump as used in the C4s.

Here is a fuel pump testing and replacement DIY that was done for C4s but it will have enough hints in it to help you replace your fuel pump:
