boost question

Hi guys,

Have a small question which I hope you guys can answere. I have a fitted a boostguage in my 3b car a while ago, besides an ITG airfilter it is standard. When I give WOT at 1500 revs in 3rd gear the boostguage is going up, it shows 0,5 at around 2000 revs and hits it highest peak, 0,7 bar, at 2700 revs. around 5500 revs it slidely drop.

I thought that a standard 3b had 0,5 bar at 3000 revs and 0,8 bar at 3500 revs. how can it be that mine is already showing 0,7 bar at 2700 revs?

Can it be that it is chipped and has a boostleak?

0.8 is standard boost and you shoud get it near 2000rpm. It drop's a little on high rpms because of the ecu control says so.

You can't get 0.8 at low revs unless you accelerate with a large gear - 4 or 5 OR floor it and simultaneously brake to maintain the speed.

Everything is fine except that it's standard, get a chip and smile

Ok thanks porkkis, I thought it only had to gave 0,5 bar till 3000 and rise to 0,8 bar above 3500 revs.

The chip will be there in the future, after brake update and suspension update. But it is not easy to safe some money with a s2 for daily use and 4-5 holidays a year.
