Rebuilt distributor, fired up. Still Will not start when warm. If i let it sit for a few hours, ut starts again. Tried switching the G4 and the G28 with no results.

Just so the thread doesn't die before I've come to a solution, I'll keep posting here.

-Ordered up a new hall sensor, rotor and metal gear to rebuild the distributor.
I'll take pictures when I've taken it to pieces.

Couldn't tell from the pics on the rotor it may be correct. As far as the no hot start I would suspect that the hall sensor in the dizzy is starting to fail.

Thanks for the replies newsh, greatly appreciated.

Cleaned it with contacts cleaner when I had it out. The gear is plastic, but looks allright.

Should probably change the topic text, as the timing doesn't sem to be the culprit. It starts when cold, but not when warm.

It's probably worth noting that pics of the timing marks linked on the first page show the flywheel mark on 200 20v with the 016 transmission which lines up a little different in the window on the bellhousing than the 01A in the S2.

You could be right on the rotor, although i measured it to 11mm. Is the narrow one even narrower?

When mine was lined up, it was with the line aligned with the straight piece in the bellhousing, and I could see half the "0".

Yes, thats what I've done this time around. Didn't take up the slack in the dizzy, but it did start.
I'm at a loss for why it wouldn't start again though.

I can't see that line anymore. Using the line with the "0".

    1. Get an improved sprocket while you're at it from this forum, see for sale section.
    2. I believe you can replace the hall sensor, or was that only on ABY/AAN/ADU?
