fault code 00544 boost pressure upper limit exceeded

My car had a wobbly in 5th under load today and i got boost cut in every gear as soon as the boost got up. I have pressure tested the system tonight and found 3 leaks but can still hear something from round the wgfv area. Despite loads of soapy water i couldnt actually fine any leak though.
Coincidentally humanjoists aby through the same code. He has a holed intercooler.
I assume this is a leak related code rather than as the title would suggest?

Ive gone and bought a selection oh heavy duty jubilees this morn. I also bought some new vacuum lines.
I noticed that while adding the air to the system i could hear the wastegate spring going. Im wondering if the rlnoise i can hear is pressure leaching out the wastegate.
I understand the 3b has a softer spring so it opens earlier.
Im quite tempted to assemble it then try it. These cars are quite sensitive to boost leaks so surely if it is leaking then it will soon show up. I cant find the leak but can hear something.
My ither thought is that the vac line to the diverter was disconnected during testing so maybe that was causing a problem

Are you testing an a warn engine? If the valves in the head is not completly in good shape i think some air will leak out. Is the engine stock or does it have 7a cams and adjustable gears?

I have a genuine VAG tool its very good. I guess i should get some smoke pellets.
If you are ever local Will ill test your car no problem.
The engine was warm it sounds like its around the wgfv area ill check again later. Fun times!

                1. No noticeable air will not leak out at 1-2 bar even with a cold engine. It will take several minutes for the pressure to drop. If it was any other way you would have no compression in the engine.
                2. 7A cams in stock position have no overlap.

Prj. The vag tool only has a gauge showing the pressure coming in so you can regulate it to 1.5 bar. You can feel the pressure in the tip and other pipes then drops off fairly quick. I can hear the slight hiss but soapy water has found 3 leaks but not this one yet.

Are you blocking the breather hose during the test?
