AFAIK RS2 intake cam is same as 3B/ABY/AAN intake cam (so I could use my dizzy with 3B cam). RS2 exchaust cam is different. RS2 cam sprocket is also same as in ABY/AAN except in RS2 sprocket hall window is in little bit different position. This is because in RS2 timing mark doesn't align same as in 3B/ABY/AAN it is half tooth off, so it need different hall window in sprocket. I was thinking what happens if I install RS2 cams and align cam sprocket same way as in 3B/ABY/AAN? Or should I buy adjustable cam sprocket to get aligment same as in RS2?

Basically I just want the best street setup with RS2 turbo, not necessarily max power.
If you could get your hands on a RS2 sprocket it would be the easiest option, but you can of course use a adjustable sprocket to achieve the same effect. The ADU waterpump and timing belt you mentioned earlier is not needed.

      I already have RS2, 3B and ABY/AAN sprockets Here is a good comparison between RS2 and ABY/AAN sprockets: http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showpos...9&postcount=86

RS2 water pump has 26 teeth, 3B/ABY/AAN water pump has 29 teeth.
RS2 cam belt has 150 teeth, ABY/AAN cambelt has 151 teeth.

When you tighten cam belt in RS2, cam sprocket align mark goes half tooth left and this is correct aligment. So I guess this half tooth difference is because of smaller water pump gear in RS2?

Does anyone know what is the relation between ECU software and camshafts/timing? If I install 3B/ABY/AAN camshafts, RS2 injectors, RS2 FPR and RS2 ECU (with stock RS2 software), can I run the car? Or do I need to find someone who can remap RS2 ECU for 3B/ABY/AAN camshafts?

I guess no one has run RS2 exhaust camshaft with 3B/ABY/AAN hardware, without adjustable cam sprocket.

Loads of people run stock ABY cams with RS2 software and it's just fine.

Thanks, good to hear that it works Mainly I was thinking if there is something RS2 camshaft specific code in RS2 ECU, for example in RS2 intake camshafts is retared 10 degrees so the injection time could be different than in ABY? But maybe only ECU software specialists know this.

Just let it fully be 3B with the new hall sending unit and use 3B inlet cam and NM ex cam and all markings according to 3B stock factory allignment. That will be great with your selected combination. Been using that many years and works nicely eli hyvä tulee .... :-) remember also the correct ADU fuel pressure regulator. Bigger IC, adu similar ecu and ex manifold is also mandatory for great daily driver results.

Tommy200rs, thanks for very good information Unfortunately I don't have NM cams, I have only 3B and ADU cams. I will try my luck with 3B cams because of timing problem with ADU cams. I also have RS2 FPR (3.8bar), new full aluminium IC and Wagner exhaust manifold. So my setup will be just like original RS2, except the cams.

Highest I have done is around 600hp, but needs a lot of boost.

Reclocked aan cams make nice 550hp on 1.6ish bar boost (if everything is right). With higher midrange boost biggest torques I have seen have been around 800Nm.

RS2 setup - it means with RS2 cam sprocket, cambelt, waterpump, etc ?

There is no such thing as best possible cam timing, it's always matter of opinions and personal preferations, not even mentioning the other setup.

Adjust the timing to .5/.5mm open at tdc, and start advancing then by going to .6/.4 and them to .7/.3, keep adjusting as long as you feel it getting better.

Then try .8/.8 and redo the same. Se if it feels better.

                            Then try 1.0/1.0

                            Then 1.2/1.2

At some point you will notice it starts getting worse, and idle goes bad etc.

This is how it needs to be done, if you want to find best timing.

What are the current thoughts on a 7A exhaust cam? Is it a bit old hat nowadays, or is it still considered as an upgrade over stock?
